Lesson 3 of 6

Level 3: First client on your bill

Get paid: price it, bill it, make the AI convert

Clear condition: Level 3

At least 1 live client runs on your credits over two calendar months, or paid you through DM Champ.

I still remember my first ever online payment. It was 100 euros, in 2012. My hands were shaking, I refreshed the page three times, and I did not tell anyone for a while because I was scared it would disappear.

That feeling is what Level 3 is about. A client live is great. A client paying you, month after month, is a business.

Price the problem, not the software

A barbershop and a wedding planner do not pay the same, because one booking is not worth the same. Anchor your price to what the client gets back.

If a clinic's first appointment is worth 180 dollars and the agent recovers three a month that would otherwise have gone unanswered, 400 dollars a month is an easy conversation. If a salon's haircut is 30 dollars, you are selling volume and rebooking, and you price lower. The common band for a managed agent at a local business is 200 to 500 dollars a month. Where you land inside it depends on the niche, not your nerve.

Charge a setup fee too. The work is real: collecting the price list, connecting the channels, wiring the calendar, tuning the tone. Setting it up for free teaches the client that the launch is your problem instead of a joint project.

Two ways to bill

Fold it in. You pay the AI usage from your own credit pool and charge one monthly fee that covers everything. Simple for the client, and you control the margin.

Resell credits. Connect your own Stripe and design plans: a monthly price, credits per month, which features they get. You can add a yearly version of each plan, and give any plan a free trial of up to 90 days, so the client signs up through your payment link, uses the product and gets charged when the trial ends. If you bill clients outside Stripe, the platform can tell your system when a client needs a top up, and your system adds the credits.

Either way, the money runs through you. You set what the client pays.

Make the agent worth paying for

A client keeps paying when the agent turns messages into bookings. Read their chats every week in the first month. Where it rambles, tighten the instructions. Where it gives up, add the answer to its knowledge. Where it forgets to ask for the booking, tell it to.

When you talk to the client about money, do it the way the agent should talk to their customers. Ask why they reached out. Name the problem in their numbers. Ask what they tried before. Describe what changes when every message gets an answer in under a minute. Answer each concern honestly. Then tell them exactly what happens next. Sales is helping people get what they already want.

The very first real customer of what became DM Champ was a clinic. We sent a small list of old leads, people who had asked once and gone quiet, through WhatsApp with the AI on, and it booked them in. Old leads are the easiest first win you can offer a client.

Do this now

  1. Decide your price per niche and your setup fee, and write both down before the next call.
  2. Choose fold-in or resell. For reselling, set up your plans, yearly versions and trials. Credit Reselling (SaaS Mode)
  3. Build the pricing tiers your clients will see. Set up pricing tiers
  4. Billing clients outside Stripe? Wire the top up webhook. Sub-Account Auto-Recharge
  5. Read your first client's chats every week and fix what you find. AI Bot Setup

The ticks are only saved in this browser. Your level still comes from your account.

What does not count

Burning credits on an empty client account does not count. Traffic on a client you spend nothing on does not count either. And a single weekend of traffic you paid for yourself will not do it: the client needs real conversations across two calendar months.

Member proof

Ammar Shariq gave three universities a free two week trial. By the end their teams had built it into their process, and he signed all three on six month retainers of around 270 dollars a month each.

Do it in your own account

Your level moves when the real thing happens in DM Champ. Start the challenge and come back to this lesson as you go.

The challenge is free. DM Champ starts with a 7 day trial. Already playing? Continue opens your level in the app.
